The word ‘Tarahumara’ translates roughly to ‘Fast
Feet’. These amazing people are some of the fastest runners in the
world. This is chiefly why they were able to survive the Spanish
Invasion in the 1600’s – they were literally able to run and hide away
in the cracks and crevices of the canyon. Today, the Tarahumara are
known for winning many marathons in the U.S. and around the world.
